Yes...we have always lived beneath our means...and that's why I am so frustrated. Our retirement is tied up in our home...and if it has dropped 50% in value, it is still worth more than we paid. But the stock market. All that money we pumped into 401Ks because we weren't jetting to Europe or Palm Desert...or buying new furniture! Oh, well. We'll still be better off...all we have to do is stay warm and eat. And I have about 30 pounds I would love to lose, so maybe I won't complain for a while....
Your email got through...and even if I lose my job, I'll be better off than most Americans. Lucky for me, I care about people and advocate for all Americans...NO REPUBLICAN HERE! I wanted to retire in 6 years (when the youngest is a college grad) and do something worthwhile. I've come full circle. Started out wanting to be a social work or Peace Corps volunteer...distracted by making a living...wanting to redeem myself by volunteering and making positive difference for people.
